The Secret Series in India: is Nothing Sacred?

The horror! The humanity! Not only have my books been published in India - against better judgment, but IF YOU'RE READING THIS IT'S TOO LATE just made the Indian best seller list for November! Number 14. 

Here is the bad news!

Hopefully people will forget all about the Secret Series, and concentrate on Ravi Kapur's THE SACRED SECRET - number 15 on the list.

NEW REVIEW REVEALS BLOGGER'S NEFARIOUS PLOT

Susan of Bloggin' Bout Books is back with a review of my newest book and the review is absolutely shocking!  Not to mention infuriating!  And how about outlandish!  I cannot even bring myself to repeat the awful accusation she makes. She actually thinks that I am secretly recruiting members for the Mid--...No, I can't say it. I can only imagine that she's engaged in a treacherous sort of double-double-think or reverse-reverse psychology. Is it she who is the agent of evil? You'll have to read the review yourself. Here is how it begins:

I have a bone to pick with Pseudonymous Bosch, the mysterious author of The Name of This Book Is Secret and If You're Reading This, It's Too Late. See, he says he doesn't want us to read his books. He warns readers away with cautionary titles and cryptic blog warnings about imposters and nefarious schemes now afoot. This is all well and good (after all, he does tell a dangerous story, which, for our own safety, we really should ignore), but then P.B. goes and does the unthinkable: He writes a story about chocolate. Sweet, creamy, delcious chocolate. As if anyone could resist an entire book about this delectable confection...

THE RUBY WRINKLE REVIEW: If You're Reading This, It's Already Too Late: Interview With Pseudonymous Bosch

Secrets can be told behind closed doors. Secrets can be hidden in a handshake. Or a chocolate bar (as Bosch can probably attest to). Most secrets, though, are just dying to be told. Author and impostor extraordinaire,  Pseudonymous Bosch, takes the dangerous plunge of narrating the mysterious adventures of Cass and Max-Ernest with The Name of This Book Is Secret illustrated by Gilbert Ford. Cass, a compulsive survivalist and her chatty chum, Max-Ernest, explore the cryptic origins of a box labeled The Symphony Smells. As their investigation ensues, they encounter a magician, secret societies, alchemy, some more secrets, and other things that would require me to suddenly leave the country, change my name to Bruhelda and quietly tend to sheep herding for the rest of my life. Bosch continues, with both fair warning and anguished forthcoming, the enigmatic exploration of Cass and Max-Ernest in If You’re Reading This Book, It’s Already Too Late and the resigned, This Book Is Not Good For You. “Only bad books have good endings” states Bosch however the notorious narrator reveals (after much chocolate bribery) that good beginnings can also make great books in the following interview.

WORD OF MOUTH: MY WORST ENEMY

What part of secret don't they understand???  Imagine my distress when I opened my computer this morning and read the following from the librarian Mrs. Farquharson on her Read On! blog:

There are some books that become popular because readers enjoy them and tell their friends about them. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone was one of those books.  When it first came out, there wasn’t a lot of publicity about it from the publisher; nor were reviewers in newspapers and magazines raving about it. Somewhere along the way, readers discovered it, and they became enchanted with the world of Hogwarts. The series went on to make publishing history.

The Name of This Book Is Secret is one of those books that is becoming popular by word of mouth. It was published in 2007, and suddenly, many readers are hearing about it from their friends...

A SECRET REVIEW

You all know how I feel about reviews of my books. I'm very much against them. However, Rachel MD of Anything Fiction is at least good at keeping a secret. (Much better than I am!) And she knows crazy when she sees it: 

"No matter how crazy his book writing is,  I have to give credit to Mr. Bosch because he is a wonderful entertainer. I wouldn’t be surprised if he joins the circus one day - he’ll be the best clown ever! But for now, let’s bribe him with more DARK chocolate so that he wouldn’t get any ideas. After all, he still has to finish what he had started!"

"WARNING: AVOID PSEUDONYMOUS BOSCH AT ALL COSTS"

Now, that's more like it, Susan!  As you all know, I heartily disapprove of any and all reviews of my books.  After all, they might encourage more people to read them.  But unlike her review of THE NAME OF THIS BOOK IS SECRET (see below), Susan's latest review of IF YOU'RE READING THIS IT'S TOO LATE is properly cautionary...  She has seen the error of her ways and now realizes my books are not "fun" but rather "dangerous.  As in troublesome, hazardous, unsafe."   It may be too late to save us all from the Midnight Sun, but I guess it's never too late to make amends.  You can read the review here.
